The English Cricket Club of Saigon (ECCS) was founded in 2006. The development of cricket facilities at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in HCMC caused the creation of 5 cricket clubs that year, and has worked with and played for the new Australian club, a few Englishmen living in HCMC decided it would be prudent to start an English version, not least so a Vietnam-based Ashes rivalry could be started and maintained.

 

We are not an exclusive English-only club, our members include English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, American, Australian, Kiwis, South African, Indian, Pakistani, Vietnamese, and a few others. We are truly Multi-National and everyone is welcome to play party or both!

 

We train and play most weekends from November to May. Anyone is welcome to come and try, train, or play. Our Facebook page displays our latest fixtures and updates.

 

Also, we arrange international tours and host visiting Teams: in Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Malaysia to mention a few of our recent ones.   ​

 

This is on top of having a representative team in the VCA International 6’s tournament in March each year.
